Oil Pan Gasket, Fnt Crank Seal, and Fnt timing cover.

This will be my virgin run on my friend’s truck for all of these for a 12V. Any pointers from any that have gone before would be helpful. I have head that you can do the pan gasket while in the truck. Just have to lift the motor somewhat. ALSO i know about the KDP. I would like to fix it while i am in there. How and what do i need to do so? Thanks in advance!

...just saw a thing on the KDP...but that was more of a Rear timing cover R&R due to a KDP expulsion. Is there just a fix for the pin? And what hole is it located in?

The Harmonic balancer doesn’t seem to require a puller to remove. Just 4 bolts? Right? Then i have access to the fnt timing cover and Crank seal? Thanks all again!

 

You are going to tab it I assume? Either run to Cummins and get a tab, or just make your own out of some thinner metal and a longer bolt. There is a great picture running around here that shows where the tab and KDP are located at. Basically there is a bolt to the side of the pin hole that you put the tab under. The search will tell all about it.
