Fuel problem

I am having trouble getting my truck running after replacing the fuel filter. I cleaned/replaced the pre-filter screen about 6 months ago because I had a seep from the pre-filter and checked all the lines at the side of the engine. I took it in for service the other day and had the fuel filter changed and now it started and ran for about 10 minutes at the shop and then died and won't start again. Pushing on the primping button only gets bubbles from the top of the filter. Cracking a couple of lines on injection pump gets no bleed from pump when cranking. It turns over great and tries to pick up fuel but won't quite pick it up. It was taking 3 or 4 crankings every morning to start and then will start normal all day even after sitting 4 to 6 hours. The tank is sitting at 1/4 tank and added 5 gals this morning and tried all the cranking bleeding etc. this morning doing a lot more cranking than I have ever had to on any diesel and it just won't quite start. I changed the fuel lines at the engine and the mechanic checked all the fittings but have never changed the ones at the tank. He looked with a mirror on top of the tank and said there are no signs of leaks up there but the lines are plastic. Can I change those lines to rubber diesel fuel hose as well. One thread I found suggested changing the line from the tank all the way to the engine. In the mean time my truck is sitting at the shop and I am walking.

Could be a couple of things, but to begin, I would run hose all the way from the tank to the pump.

Could also be a split line in the sender, but lets start with the easiest first.

You defiantly have a air leak that is getting bigger.

I concer. I nearly went insane when my truck would start, run then die. I cranked, pump the lift pump ( use a stick or broom handle ). Then notice the frame was flooded with fuel near the tank. Had a big air leak in the intake. New hose, cracked the bleed on filter. Started righ up.
