Fuel Pressure Increasing?

Whats going on with my fuel pressure?
When I first installed my fuel pressure gauge, truck ran 20 on start up idle,
and ran 20-25 regular as can be.
On a really hot day it would briefly hit 26-27 with max acceleration, then down again to "normal"

I pulled my horse trailer this weekend (up hill) and the fuel pressure was pegging at 30psi, It would drop to mid 20's at idle but jump right up again.
My pyro never went above 900, and my boost runs 0-20
Did the same thing running down hill.

the truck is making some whistling sounds too, but I don't think thats related, I think its an air leak and going to ask about it in a new thread...

Fuel pressure is spot on, 25-27 at idle, 32-35 at WOT.

Great, I thought it was 20-25
Should I worry about not seeing the pressure >30 due to my gauge 30max?
or not to worry.

What would cause a fuel pressure be too high? And what kind of problem would result?
thanks, Jenni

A bad overflow valve or a kinked return line can cause high pressure which can blow out internal injection pump seals, crack the filter and fuel lines.
45 psi is pushing your luck.
Bad idea to stretch the overflow valve spring for more pressure if you don't have a fuel pressure gauge to see what you're doing.

That's why I am using an industrial gauge, I couldn't find a mechanical 0-60 gauge from the aftermarket, and I was worried it would be too hard to discern pressures on a 0-100.

Plus we had some really cool 0-60 liquid filled gauges at work........
