I changed out the fuel shut off solenoid this afternoon, replaced the spade connectors. Started the truck, the solenoid I replaced is no longer leaking but I have a new leak and a good one. It is coming from what I believe is the KSB pressure relief valve. It’s leaking around the screw.
1) I’m making an assumption that this has nothing to do with changing the other solenoid or changing the connectors. Just making sure, since I think it started leaking or at least noticed after changing the shut off solenoid.
3) I pulled the brass out, cleaned it and retightened it, pretty sure it made it worse. Pretty sure it’s leaking out of that pressure relief screw.
4) common issue? Is O ring replacement the best place to start? Or is there some other issue?
I’ve had a similar issue before. It’s likely not related to the solenoid change. Start by replacing the O-ring on the KSB pressure relief valve; that often fixes leaks around there. Make sure everything is clean and properly tightened. I had to do this on my '93 W250 last year and it worked like a charm. Good luck!
