Fuel Filter vs MPG

Will a dirty/clogged fuel filter negatively affect MPG? I do not yet have a fuel pressure gauge installed. Thanks all.

Not really, in my experience anyway. Clogged filter will deliver less fuel, so how can you burn more In all seriousness, low case pressure in the p-pump can cause them to run crappy and thus possibly burn more fuel.

Plugged fuel filter will just hurt acceleration. If you find it harder to outrun the minivans at the stop light, but everything else is normal, than it's time for a new filter.

Low fuel pressure will most definitely lower mpg.
Plugged filters are one cause of low FP.

Thanks all - ordering up that gauge and filter today. I probably should have installed it prior to trying the bio blend at a local retailer. The gauge will go in prior to the new filter, just to see how bad the filter is.
