Front end rebuild....

Well this is my second post. My truck is showing it's age and the frontend needs to be gone through. I am one who would prefer to do everything themselves. I plan on replacing; hubs, rebuildable track bar, ball joints, all of the bushings, tie rod ends, swaybar ends etc...While there I also plan on doing the brakes. I have a few questions. Does anyone have a line on any polyeurethane bushing kits? What size is the castellated nut that holds the hub on? Are there any parts that are better than others and who would have the best prices? Any other advice wold be greatly appreciated.

hi
i highly recomend the ssi bracket to use the 03 up track bar , you will not be disapointed !
i got some urathane bushings for the sway bar at the local speed shop .

or try a 4 wheel drive performance center ,

or try energy suspension . com for urathane bushings !

adjust the stearing box also and you will be good to go , look for the correct procedure on here to get it right .

did mine last year and still need to do the control arm bushings , but stearing is great now no slop !

Here is a thread with detailed description on pulling the hubs with most of the socket sizes listed:

https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...ight=front+hub

The axle nut is 1 11/16 inch 12 Pt.

I replaced my control arm bushings with Energy Suspension poly bushings from Summitt Racing:

I used Solid Steel 3rd gen track bar bracket and Solid Steel 3rd Gen Adj TB, DSS, PSC 3 turn box, Energy Susp. sway bar end links and bushings, Rancho Susp. steering Stabilizers etc.

You need to tell weather you want to fix short term [ stock ] or longterm [ mod ] ?
Longterm fix's cost more in the short term , but thats what these sites are about , getting rid of all the dodge screw ups / bad engineering .
Of everything you listed there are better upgrades / mods .
getting rid of all the ball joints in steering is one , then steering box braces , bigger calipers , greasable u-joints .
The tricky part is where to stop , what do you want out of the truck , play / work and how long would you plan on keeping - the longer the more the payoff for the good stuff .

I do plan on keeping the truck for quite some time. I even thought about a small lift kit say under 6" if everything I needed to do the normal frontend rebuild came with the lift. I do not want to break out the plasma cutter and welder for a whole lot of work but the occasional bracket removal would not be too bad.
