Fixed fuel problem and brakes
Well I think I fixed my fuel problem. I replaced the fuel lines righ behind the tank and had a heck of a time getting it to keep prime. 1st time I got it primed and started I turned it off for about an hour and went to start it again and no go. Did this 2 more times and after setting each time for a short period it would not start.
Stayed away from it for a couple days and this morning I hit it again. Pulled the fuel sender assembly and cleaned it all and reassembled and reinstalled it.
Primed it up again and it did the same thing.
I put 20lbs. pressure in tank and looked for an hour and could not find any leaks. Nothing. I figured I just must have an air pocket it the return line and I needed to drive it for a couple miles to get it out. SO I got it running and wrapped the tailight wires around the bumper (bed removed) and capped the fuel fill and lit out down the road for about 5 miles on a secondary road near the house. all the ups and downs and rights and lefts seemed to have gotten the air pocket out if that is in fact what was wrong. It has sat most of the day in it starts right up.
We will see in the morning if I am good to go.
It's parked nose uphill.
I also replaced the wheel cylinders with the GM 1ton units and drained and replaced all the brake fluid.
Incredible!
I now actually have brakes!
First time I really shoved them I almost came out of my seat!
I can't say enough about this forum and all the knowledgable people that have helped me out.
Thanks again!
Now on another note. I bought an 03 today.
3/4 ton, 4door, manual shift, hide a ball goose neck hitch, full power, all black and almost spotless interior and exterior.
I only paid $9,000.00 for it.
OH, there is one little thing I forgot to mention............IT'S GAS!
NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Sorry but I could not pass it up for that price.
WE will see how I like it whether or not I keep it.
