The truck is a 95 1 ton, i believe that the engine has been replaced and am overhauling it. I found a broken tappet when the cam came out. Like i stated in the title there is no data plate and need the ESN to order the tappet. I know that I can use just about any 12 V ESN, but i would like to know what year this one is. Does anyone know where to locate the number on the block somewhere?

No ESN on the block. You could talk to the dodge dealer and give them the VIN, they might have the ESN on the data sheet for the truck.

 

Take the serial number to a good Cummins dealer. They got me mine with the truck VIN. Going through Dodge only got me a call center in India. After half an hour I was told to look on the missing tag on the motor!!!!!! If they ever stop putting Cummins in Dodges I will never own another. Good trucks but the service centers suck........

 

Thanks guys, I guess I will have to scrounge up an esn from a 98 truck. Does any one have one for me to use?

 

FYI, the 5.9L is the only engine that Cummins produces that does not come with a serial number on the block. I called a Cummins dealer in Irvine to find the info.

 

Thats not acurate either. Many of them are stamped under the alternator from what I have been told. I think this was mostly on 24v as mine wasnt stamped. So did you get the ESN you were looking for?

 

Theres no ESN on the block on either of my 24v's.
