EGT Temps.........
Installed my Boost and Pyro guages this weekend, and looking for some numbers I can use for comparison...... Yesteday afternoon with the tempature outside in the 40s, at 70 mph, I was running ~2100 rpm in 5th with about 700 degrees and ~7 psi booost, (was hauling 5-600 pounds in the box) idle around 300 degrees. Does this sound around normal?

Yup, good cruising egt.......do a search on "plate grinding" and grind your plate to a #100 profile and block the wastegate.......you'll get sick bottom end and the 215 pump fuels well on the top end with the #100 plate........get your timing advanced and experiment with plate placement to get full power and egt control.......add a TST AFC spring kit to get rid of that ultra stiff 215 spring and you are set.........start saving for the new clutch!!

Ya, the missing kitty made for a 100°F drop for sure. I cruise about the same boost and run just over the 600°F mark.
As for blocking the wastegate, the red-line on the stock HX-35 turbo is around 36-38 Psi. I use the boost elbow in the plate kit. I also kept the stock plate incase I should ever sell the truck. FWIW..

Yes, I am aware, maybe I should post some info on how to care for the cat instead of gutting or removing it. Heres some pretty good info:

Play with your stock plate a little just because yyou grind it doesn't mean it has to be a 100 grind. There's pictures of #10 plates out there and I bet you could get it pretty darned close with alot of patience. The key to grinding your plate is take it nice and easy don't get it too hot and only take a little off at a time. You would be mighty pleased with what you can do without spending a dime, plus you made it that gives awsome satisfaction
I will NEVER spend money on a hot rod plate AGAIN, I'll just grind my own
But to each his own

1650 rpm, 7 psi, 65 mph, level ground, 700* pre-turbo. To the wood, 100 mph, 2300 rpm, 36 psi, chopping the throttle at 1350*
Boy my 100's gonna be hot after the squirters and funnels.....better hasten the progress on that Pratt and Whitney compressor idea![Big Grin](https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
And I have personally seen northslope's 100 creation.....whooo-eeeee. I caught him shaving in the reflection of it the other day. Actually I accused him of sending it out to chrome. If he's not careful, the gov arm is gonna "slip" off of it.....really, he did THAT nice a job of polishing it. I have never seen a better done workbench plate. Props man...Props
