Kinda off topic but...when he opens the oil fill and there is the puffs coming out, this is normal? I noticed mine doing it, chalked it up to excessive blowby but didn't know for sure.

Yep, mine also makes a racket when the cap is off compared to when it is on, tough to tell if it is as loud as his though.
My KDP is tabbed BTW

It looked like snow in the background (at the very beginning of the video), so the cold is probably why you could see blow-by and maybe why the truck sounded "different". I know mine sounds very different in the winter, even when the engine is warmed up.

It states in the print below the video that he did not know what the problem was (when taping) and only discovered it was the dowel pin after he tore into it.

I give him credit for filming it. Regardless, it's a great video. Need to send it to Cummins because they deny the KDP is a problem. Kind of like finally getting bigfoot on video. He needed to go and buy a lotto ticket, as it was his lucky day. KD

They know it's a problem. One Cummins service bulletin even describes the sound of a loose dowel pin as dragging a screwdriver down a chain link fence.
