Difference Between 94 Dually 80 & 01 Dually D80
Difference Between 94 Dually 80 & 01 Dually D80
Hey guys, I need to have my Dana 80 either repaired or replaced.
I found a 2001 Dana 80 out of a dually for a good price.. Probably less than it would cost to fix my existing axle.
I have a 94 Dually Dana 80 in my truck now.
The axle I'm looking at is a 2001 Dually Dana 80.
Does anyone know what the difference between these 2 axles might be? (besides the year)
Thanks

The 01 D80 could have discs if it came out of an 01.5 truck and the ABS fitting/sensor on the top of the pumpkin is different between the 01 and 94. Other than that, they are the same.
make sure you measure it wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface. there is a differance from cab and chassies and dually trucks. i never messed with one that was newer than 98 but we swaped in 94 to 98 on a couple different times.
The cab and chassis D80 should be fairly easy to spot even without a tape measure because the backing plates are nearly butted up against the spring perches....where as the pick up D80 has a few inches between them.
