A couple of questions.
A couple of questions.
I am going to buy my first diesel. I am just starting to learn about these trucks.
My original plan is a 91-93 due to lack of computer and limited electronics. This will make the learning curve easier for me.
But I heard the 93-98s don't have a computer other than to run the gauges etc.
How much more electronic crap/computers are there on these years?

Well, yea, it is more complicated than the '91-'93 models. The computer also controls the alternator, cruise control, and other things like the overhead console and the light around the key. There are lots more things it does like run the gauges, but as far as a learning curve you won't have much problems.

P.S. Go to your local auto parts store and get a Haynes manual #30041 abd it has most of the info that you will need.
