coolant temp woes

coolant temp woes

96 12 valve auto stat opens then drops temp,temp stays 150ish ,2different stats 1cummins 1 parts store,same results.107 outside temp still 150ish temp any ideas?

What kind of Gauge are you using to get the water temp? Is it really only 150F?

2 different ac themometers right at fill neck

The radiator should be colder that the block, I have never stuck a thermometer in one to see what they run. What does the temp gauge show that the engine is running for a temp driving? 150 in the radiator is ok.

165ish normally runs closer to 180 185 ,just bumped timing to 15 but was running cool bfor this. will timing advance lower coolant temp also?
