Converting 4wd nv4500 to 2wd?

Hi all,

I need an nv4500 2wd transmission to replace the one in my dually that got damaged by running low on lubricant. I have found one that's freshly rebuilt, but is a 4wd trans. I know the tailshaft and housing must be changed at a minimum, but I don't know how hard this is to do, or what else must be done. Anybody know?

ps-the countershaft in my old trans is probably toast. I don't know enough about the transmission to know if that matters.

there is no tail shaft, you must swap the main shaft. it really is not that hard to do.

Oh, ok. I think the mainshaft in my 2wd is still ok. So I could put the synchros from the 4x4 trans into my 2wd, swap shafts, and that would be it?
