Common Rail Turbo on a 12V?
Any reason to do this? There are a few on sale and was wondering if there is any reason this would not work and if it was worth it?

I would go with an S300 variant, 62mm would probably work decent enough!

Yeah I am really past my HX35. Just dont want to drop $1700 right now. I have the opportunity to start running hot shots on the weekend and need a turbo that is going to get me through the first couple of months until I can afford an SPS62/14 or the like.

What little you would gain by the better compressor wheel would be offset by the small exhaust housing! 12v's like bigger housings for breathing! Our heads are anemic in stock form!
