Cheap 12V injectors?
Cheap 12V injectors on eBay?
Are the inexpensive Ebay injectors worth buying?
They are cheap, looking for injectors for a 220 HP 6BT marine engine,
I want stock size injectors , not wanting to add HP .
Tag on engine says injector part number 4089254 - PX ,
is there a interchange chart somewhere?
I'm not finding much when I search that Cummins part number.
Are all 12V injectors the same outside dimensions?
Thanks

I suggest registering on Cummins Quickserve - you'll need to provide your engine serial number from the tag on the timing case. There is a wealth of part and service info on Quickserve (including part # histories/supercessions), and you can see if that number comes up for your engine. Not knowing the eBay source, I'd be VERY wary of injectors on eBay. When I replaced mine a couple of years ago, RockAuto had the best price I could find, and Summit Racing was 2nd - genuine new Bosch in both cases (RockAuto only had 5, so the 6th came from Summit), and cheaper than the local Bosch shop could overhaul my originals.
I'm surprised you didn't find injectors on Quickserve. When I sign on and go to the parts tab, "Injector" is there on the list. Unfortunately, following that link still didn't give me a real part number - it showed PP2022 as the injector (which isn't a real part #), followed by all the components of the injector. I believe I found my injector # from my AlldataDIY subscription, but that won't help you since yours is a marine application. If you go back in Quickserve and find "injector", see if there is a CPL (critical part list) number with it.
I Google-searched for the injector # you mentioned - the results linking to diesel parts businesses didn't have pics of the injector, though. There was a thread on a diesel boat forum that apparently contained that part #, but it was archived and I would have to be a member to see it. It may be worthwhile for you to join and look at the thread - it's here.
Seaboard Marine (sbmar.com) came up in results - they seem to have injectors by the CPL number. Oregon Fuel Injection also came up in results. Look for a Cummins dealer - around here, its Southern Plains Cummins and they have a location in Houston. The Houston location is probably more likely to deal with marine applications due to the ship channel and associated industries. Is there a Cummins dealer near you? Or a diesel (injection) shop that deals in industrial/marine?

Thanks for the help. From what I have been able to find out the injectors are not available new anymore.
I talked to Oregon Fuel injection and Seattle injector and they both can rebuild mine.
Lots of conflicting information out there when researching 5.9L Cummins marine, compared to a truck engine, some say pistons are different, spray pattern on injectors is different, some guys say that doesn't start until 330 HP marine, maybe 270 HP, some say it depends on year. So common, easy to find truck injectors would be a gamble for my engine .
Oregon said my injectors are matched to my CAV injection pump, pop off pressure is different than say a P pump .
This fall I will ship my injectors to Oregon and have them rebuild them, they were the most helpful on the phone and at $95 each to rebuild were the cheapest.

I don't know Oregon, but the cheap ebay injectors are very nice to assure that I have work.
They fit for every piston type, every injection pump and every calibration.
And then I have the engine on the table, get to pull ruined pistons, molten exhaust valves and a lot of other stuff, but the owner saved some cash by buying cheap.
While this (expletive of choice) was running it did a lot of damage to my environment before melting down.
If I recall it correctly the engines with a CAV pump had completely different injection geometries than the P-pumped ones.
So, re-building the injectors is a good call, an excellent call if they know what they are doing.

There are certain things I don't buy from ebay, fuel injectors are one of them. There are plenty of legit aftermarket dealers that sell know quality aftermarket parts and stand behind them. If you're only looking for an OEM replacement, any auto parts store (Napa, Rock, Car Quest etc.) can help you out.
