Changing to synthetics in the rear
Changing to synthetics in the rear
when I change from regular diff fluid to a synthetic, do I need to pull the shafts and clean all the old fluid out of the bearings or do I just pull the cover, clean the diff and fill?
Good idea to jack up each side of the truck to drain oil from the axle tubes but no need to get things squeaky clean.
Don't overfill, on your '95 the spec is 1/2" below the bottom of the fill hole rear and 3/4" below front.
More is not better, the differential will run hotter and leaks will be more likely.
