Getting ready to change diff oil tomorrow. What a few common problems to look for while I have it apart. Also I live in southern california what weight oil do you guys recommend, being that it gets very hot in the high desert, I tow occationally but planning on doing more during the summer. Waiting to find the right toy hauler before heavier towing starts. Any input would help thanks!

 

if you can afford it synthetic is nice, (amsoil, royal purple) if not just regular oil. As for weight just use what it says in the owner/shop manual.

 

I'd get 90w-140 for your situation. Get Royal Purple from www.karlracing.com. Cheapest price I've found. you don't need to add friction modifier with Royal Purple either.

Oh, I meant 75w-140...

 

Biggest mistake is overfilling, guaranteed to cause leaks.
Follow the manufacturer's recommendation, 3/4" below the bottom of the fill hole in the front, 1/2" below in the rear.
