Buying a used 12v
A friend here in Nebraska is wanting a truck now. He has an 11sec Eclipse, but after he rode in my truck at the track hes hooked. Talking it over for a few weeks hes settled on the 98 12v Quadcab, tranny doesn't matter.<br><br>The truck hes found so far is about 199 miles away and has 126k on it. They want 16,800 for the truck and claim its in great shape. I told him thats a reasonable deal.<br><br>I briefed him on the KDP, and also on the auto tranny "situation". My knowledge on the 12v is limited, so I am asking for anything to "look for" when inspecting the truck.<br><br>Thanks for the help......

Just check the front cover for KDP cracks, test the auto for TC slip, look for leaks at the rear seal and around the cooler lines, and do all of the things that you would do for any other truck.<br>I am sure that you will get lots more advice here.<br>george :-*

Thanks Eric, for posting this up. It's me that's looking for the new truck. I might have a lead on a decent truck not very far from me at this point.<br><br>It's a 98 12 Valve, with about 126k on it. We'll have to see how it pan's out.
