boost psi on stock?

Just finished installing my triple pod and boost gauge (pyro and air PSI will come later when $$$ promits). When I get on it hard I read 25-26 psi. The motor is stock except running with a BHAF and I straight piped the stock exhaust. Is that where I should be running? I was told stock should only run around 15ish. Thanks.

Your truck must be running well...I only hit 17 regularly, and 20 whn i romped on it! Maybe your instrumentation is off, just a thought tho...

Best Wishes,
Dom

possibly, would having the exhaust and intake more flowing cause more??? I wouldn't think so since nothing has been done to the wastegate

Those numbers are bang on stock for a 215 engine. Thats where I started anyway, maybe a little lower, around 23 psi, but thats splitting hairs.

Just blocking off the wastegate gets you up to around 28 psi Peak. Now the fun begins my friend...

The 96-98 215/5spd truck were the only ones that would make ~25 psi stock. Anyother 12 or 24v would be 19-20psi stock

Mine will Peak at about 35psi with it to the floor.
That's with a blocked wastegate and a #10 plate though.

Well, the way I have my plate set, I get up to the wastegate opening at 36psi with the boost elbow supplied at around 2500 Rpm. With the stock plate I was running around 33 ish full forward at full speed, wastegate blocked. I wouldn't run more than 36 psi with the stock HX35 turbo either.

I was talking with just the stock setup and blocking off the wastegate.

I would hazard a guess in around the 23-24 psi mark.

Here is a link for you tool... Dodge Ram.Org

In the Diesel section it has alot of the specs for all the pre 03 versions of the CTD.
