Blown Tranny

My cummins ate my tranny and spit it out last night. The tranny was out of an 01 Dodge with an RH valve body and overdrive section. The Cummins is a VE pumped motor with an HX35 turbo. Anyway I am on a tight budget and this is unfortunate. What should I be considering to get this built right? It is a tow and haul kid Suburban and I just want a tranny that won't go out under what I consider normal work. This tranny had 35k miles on it and I need more. What should I expect to spend and can I get something on the cheaper end that will hold up.

I don't suppose the blown tranny had any kind of warranty?

I am not very familiar with autos but I am fairly sure that to have a reliable one behind a cummins means a little bit of investment.

Goerend sells transmissions for about 3500 that should be able to handle what you want it to
