block heater

i live in nor cal and never have a reason to plug in. other than obviously plugging it in what should i check for to be sure that the block heater actually works??

Just do a quick resistance check with am OHM meter , If it reads infinity , it is toast, It Should read around 16 ohms of resistance ( I think) give or take a little)
