auto to 5 speed transmission

auto to 5 speed transmission
I started a project around 24 months ago, and have started to put this thing together!
I have a 1995 regular cab, which started out as an auto, which I've done most of the conversion except a few of the last remaining steps to make it run and drive!
I have heard there is a neutral switch wire that now needs to be hooked up some way to the new NV4500. How do I trick the truck into thinking its in neutral and be able to start it?

No specific experience here but since no one else has chimed in, let me throw out what I do know. On my '98 12 valve 5 speed, the clutch safety switch rides on the rod going from the clutch petal to the clutch master cylinder. This switch detects when the clutch is depressed and only allows the ignition to crank the engine at that time. Clutch up, no crank. Clutch down, regardless of gear, it'll crank. That's what I know. Now for speculation.
Most automatics (I've never had or worked on a Dodge auto) have a neutral safety switch that allows the engine to crank only when in Neutral or Park. On some, it also triggers the backup lights when in reverse. That switch is located somewhere on the transmission shift linkage. Find that switch and find the pair of wires for Neutral/Park safety and connect them to the Clutch Safety Switch and you should be able to crank the engine. The pair of wires for the backup light will need to go to the reverse switch that I suspect is on the transmission.
Please keep in mind that this last part is all speculation on my part based on experience with other older vehicles and general automotive theory. Hopefully it helps you find what you are looking for to get yours to run.
