Auto to 5 spd swap

Auto to 5 spd swap

I have a 1995 3500 with an auto and want to swap I found a setup with everthing i need for $1800.00 the rub is it's from a 03 will the adapter plate
will it fit my 95?

I would personally find a 6 speed. The 5 speeds were prone to failure - something about a lock nut coming off without warning. and you lose 5th gear. All of the adapter plates have the same bellhousing bolt pattern. I did a 6 speed conversion on my 94, and couldn't be happier. Took me a while to piece all of it together (pedal assemblies, etc), but it's done.

I didn't know the 03 diesel even came with a 5 speed??

I was typing backwards the ? was will a 6 speed fit the same as a 5 speed thanks for the reply it helps

if you put the lock nut on right it will not slide off i just bought a whole 97 truck with 5 speed to do my swap and it was cheaper than getting a good rebuilt auto

the 5 and 6 use the same housing. its the SO 03 that has the 5 speed
