anyone ever here of putting a john deere pump on a cummins

anyone ever here of putting a john deere pump on a cummins

i had some guys around here tell me that this can be done and it adds alot more than the p7100 pump. ive never heard of this is this true?

Didn't know JD made pumps. My JD tractors have Bosch, Lucas and Stanadyne pumps.

whi dont know anything about tractors. what kind of bosch pump is on a jd and would it even fit a cummins

I think the bodies are physically the same with just a different series governor and different plungers, barrels, and cam. Read the numbers on the pump though. I have a few JD pumps that I bought off of Ebay and most of the standard JD pumps don't have barrels and plungers as big as the P7100.

I would have to guess that a tractors injection pump, even if it bolted on to our engines, would provide power/torque in the wrong places for the kind of road conditions our trucks see.

Just guessing.

You're right, most tractors are set to run at one rpm, stop and go acceleration with a pump set for a tractor would be poor.
