I've been looking for one of these but the crack sounds like a deal breaker, any thoughts on it?

 

They are asking too much i think.

There was a complete running 94 or 95 12 valve and auto tranny on craigslist here that the guy was only asking like $1200 for. It was a steal.

Thats in Canadian funds. So it's like 1250 American. You wouldn't be worried about the crack?

 

Yes, I would be worried about the crack. I would consider it a non-useable block. I still dont think it is worth that. I wouldnt give more than 5 or 600 american $$ for a complete motor with a cracked block.

You need to ask about the crack, it might not have been caused by the engine itself and effect the way it runs since they say it's by the mount.
Crack could have been caused by the engine bouncing around due to a missing bolt.
Could be welded.
