Another trans temp sender question....

After reading dozens of great threads about where to locate my new Isspro trans temp sender I crawled under my 98 CTD to have a look around. I was surprised to see a factory plugged port (tee) in the trans line that runs from the driver side of the trans to the rear of the heat exchanger under the turbo. It’s rather large and appears to provide a lot of room for fluid to flow around the probe. It looks too easy to be true. What am I missing? Is this a viable location for my sender?

You're in luck, sounds like for whatever reason the output line was replaced by one made for a '94-'95.
Probably just need a 3/8 x 1/4" bushing to install your probe.

Thanks Bill. The trans was rebuilt a few years back, maybe the shop swapped out the line for some reason. You are correct about the bushing. Fortunately an assortment came with the gauges.
