I'm a new member, so sorry about all the questions but...i have a significant amount of oil on top of the head, around the valve covers. do those gaskets leak normally? often?
p.s. there's 225,xxx miles on the truck

It could be the gaskets with that mileage, they are reusable. They are easy to change. If you can't find Fel- Pro brand, contact your local Cummins dealer and order a set through them. While you're replacing them you might want to consider checking/ setting the valve lash. Here are some instructions on how to do that. Click here. If you're not comfortable with doing them yourself, you can get the gaskets and take them to your favorite shop and have them replaced when they set the valves for you.
