My truck has just over 200,000 miles on it and seems some accessories are failing.......fuel pump, water pump, idler pulley......and now I am getting a squealing sound sometimes until the truck warms up. I just changed the water pump since it was leaking from the weephole, and it is still doing it. The idler pulley sounded like a rock in the tire about a month ago, when I changed it out the bearings were rough.......I put a new belt on at that time too.

Anyway, I'm thinking the squeal is coming from the alternator......I have used the search engine but not really come up with anything regarding alterstart. They have a lifetime warranty on a high output NEW alternator, 165 amps for 142.49 plus $22 shipping. Drop in replacement and does not require any additional wiring or pulley size change. They refer to this alternator as a "Load Boss" alternator.

Does anybody have experience with Alterstart?

Got one from Mich. for about same. Good deal. Direct replacement. Had to ream out hole in pos. cable terminal. Hard to beat NEW.
