to night driving down the drive way a farly rough gravel one the abs and brake light came on and now the little green light that tells me the brakes for the trailer is working is not coming on. so i hooked up to the trailer and headed down the drive way an grabed the manual slider and the trailer locks up so i know there is power goin to the trailer but the little light dont come on any more. any help would be much oblighed

 

If your speedo is acting up also, it's probably the speed sensor on the rear axle. Do a search, there are several good threads and it's an easy fix.

 

thats the thing though the spedo is not messing up cause that was my orignal thought

 

i have the same prob. i took my 97 to dodge and they fixed it and this weekend i hooked up a horse trailer and as soon as i pluged the electrical in the abs and brake light went on. might want to cheak the wiring of the trailer.

 

found it and fixed it problem bare brake wire on the plug in for my trailer and on the truck side of things blow fuse for hte brakes
