You could do it cheaper with a tab and and some RTV.


As for the time, it all depends on how good you are with the tools (most say its around 3-4 hours). Since you will have the timing cover off, its a good time to adjust the pump timing.

 

I used a Cummins gasket and just used a pic of a kdp tab off of google images for my tab. The crank seal is a must unless it was just done. It took me 5 hours but we did it without removing the fan or assembly and had to run down to the store because my belt was trashed and no point in having to put the tensioner on again so probably 3.5 hours of just working
