97 auto motor what pump number
97 auto motor what pump number
I have been looking at the post on plates and delivery valves and I can see that a 97 man has a 215 pump but what does my 97 auto have ?
Thanks Mark
Thanks Mark
Okay makes sence I just never saw any one referance a 180 pump. Are the delivery valves the pumping chambers on these pumps? If so are the strokes all the same on each pump and the delivery valves just have different volumes? Any one know of a good on line manual that shows and explains the internals of the pump.I have a book on the pump for my Ford and it really helps knowing what happens inside the pump.
the delivery valves are on top of the pump where your high pressure fuel lines screw on. i believe they are to keep the fuel going in one direction but i could be wrong but you can get larger valves which means more flow which means more fuel = whole lotta smoke if you dont have a turbo to clear it up. I hear it is better to do injectors because you will get more gains accorss the whole rpm range. not sure about the validity to that but if you do injectors and still want more fuel, dv's will do it but they also add alot of heat but so will injectors.
