'97 2500 ctd 4x4 rotor/hub/axle troubles
Not sure exactly what I did wrong. I was trying to replace my front rotors (thought I was following procedure from this site) but ended up pulling the axles out...
I looked up some stuff and it all says to be very careful not to damage the axle seals, but it took a lot of force and yanking hard on the rotor/hub assembly to pull it all out, so I'm worried that I may have already damaged the seals and am worried about getting the axles back in w/o damaging them further...
Also, I don't understand how to get the bearing separated from the rotor...
Can anyone help?
Thanks very much.

Pound out the studs with a sledge hammer if you have new ones, or shop press if you have access. Axle shafts slide in, I use 2 hands to try and guide the shaft in the center without dragging it on the bottom of the axle tube. Have a rag handy to stuff between the bottom of the shaft and axle tube, letting it "hang" deforms the seal.
If they weep a little after installation give it a few weeks to settle back to normal, they usually do.
