When I first got my truck I removed cat and muffler and tossed them (oops) and straight piped exhaust(3in.). Well now I moved to the denver area and federal emissions are required so I need a cat I guess. So I looked into a new 4in. system but every system I see does not have a cat with it just a high flow muffler. How can this be everyone and their grandma is running after market exhaust and no kits sold have a cat. Do the turbo back kits for 12v not need them for emissions or what? What are my options or what legal kit can I buy? I can't afford to buy a kit and still fail emissions cause of no cat. My emissions is now due and could really use some help with this matter quick thanks!!!!!!

 

You need a Cat........... Either scour the Junkyards or I suppose you could put a replacement one in.

Get a cheap used CAT. Skin it and put the skin over your exhaust pipe. Visual inspection good. But no restriction from CAT.... I have done it to all my 12 valves.

 

Where you located? I might have my cat from my old 97 somewhere lying around...
