'96 vs '97 3500 CTD Are there differences
Well, tomorrow is my big day I'm FINALLY going to buy from my friend a '97 Dodge 3500 diesel, dually, 100K miles, 3.50, 5 speed, MINT, oil changed every 3K miles, $9650. It's got to be the best buy of the day.<br><br>All along I thought it was a '96 until the other day I found out it was a '97, which I'm sure is better.<br><br>Anybody out there know what, if any difference there is from a '96 to a '97<br><br>Im 59 and for the first time I'm going to be a diesel guy. I think I'm going to love it especially when I tow my 15,500# 5 er. Man, am I excited.....

The main diff. in a 96 and a 97 is that the 96 has vac. boost brakes and the 97 has hyd. assisted brakes.<br>Other than that there isn't much that I know of except the dipstick is also bolted down diff.<br>The engine specs are the same as long as they are both sticks or both auto's.<br><br> : Eddie : 8)

For most practical purposes the '96 and '97 models are the same. In my opinion the best model years produced (for power at least) ;D<br><br>Enjoy
