95 Auto shifting issues
Just bought the truck knowing that it would not go into overdrive, hooked it up to the scanner and it read code 24 i believe which is high TPS voltage. Checked all wiring to the computer and grounds, Put a new TPS sensor in, and noticed kick down cable was worn and broken by the sensor, installed new cable. Now i still have no OD but it is shifting weird now, sometimes will take a while to shift if wide open throttle, other times it will lock in at lower RPM's, any other suggestions before i pull it out and have it rebuilt? thanks.
I'd check the solenoids. A bad one (or more than one) will cause it to shift funny and not go into OD.
When I test drove my truck several months ago (with a new trans in it) it would not upshift until unless you revved it way up and then let off the throttle....it also would just skip over 2nd and drive and go straight to OD and no matter how hard you mashed the pedal would not downshift.
The guy selling it put in solenoids and viola...shifts great.
