"53 code" block
How do I findout if I have the 53 block, truck is a 1997 and getting ready to do some mods just wanted to know if I had the 53 block prone to cracking! Is it in the Model number of engine? Any feedback would be greatly appriciated.

Derek:
Crawl under the truck right behind the front wheel on the drivers side and look at the front side of the engine block just above the oil pan. The block casting number is there.
