53 block....

53 block....

Excuse the noob, but I've been searching on the subject. I see that it's negative to own a truck with a "53" block but why. What years were they in?

98-2002

a few 12v were subject. blocks cracked and leaked.

the problem can surface on any but usually if run hard.

So the 53 block was just a weaker casting? This is all 24V blocks but only a few 12V blocks correct.

No they were not on all 24valves just some it was a mix. The 98 - 2002's are where you will find them and the only way to know if a truck has one is to actually climb under a truck and check it.
