5 speed rpm/speed?
Hey Guys, couldn't find much about this.I was wondering what kind of road speed you guys are getting in fifth gear on the highway?I think I have the 3.55 rear end with 295/75/16 tires and at 1800-2000 rpm I was only doing about 100km/hr I think it's around 60-65 mph or so,does this seem right to you,I was expecting more speed for those revs? thanks...............Burke
I run about 2000 or so at 70 mph with my 3:55's and have 265/75/16's, yours sounds like 3:55's to me, look under the hood, there should be a sticker on the underside of the hood itself that will tell you.
I'm at just about the same, maybe 2100 rpm for the 70mph speed. Same 265/75/16's tires. Although my speedo is off by about 4mph (probably a good safety net). Strangley, the 4-speed automatic '95 4wd I owned over six years ago would run about 1850 - 1900 at 70 mph. Was a bit odd - anyone know why?
53 flapper I would guess that if it's not cracked by this point, your "53" block will probably be fine. You have really nice low mileage, but it's likely thermo-cycled enough times by now to have cracked if it was going to crack. Hope this is right!

I have 4.10s and 285/75/16s and I run about 2500 to do 75mph, about 2000 or so at 60-65. I used to govern at about 83 mph or so and with the new gsk I racwd a 24v last night on the highway and backed out of it at around 90 mph, I think I was around 3000 or so, but my speedo is off a bit, too.
