Okay here is the short of it, for a long time (2+) years I have not had overdrive. TCC works fine but just no od, except once and I mean just once it actually grabbed and it was a nice firm shift. So I have been tracking everything down I can find, TPS is all good, temp sensor is all good, brake switch... you get the picture. I have been talking to dave at goerand and we are starting to think the TCC/OD solenoid is the culprit of course only on the OD side.

I soldered in some leads right by the tranny electrical connector today and went for a nice little drive. I have 12V at the center connector of course. Now when driving along the TCC side shows 12V when it is not locked if I flip the switch or the computer calls for TCC lock that drops to little if any voltage. On the OD side I have the same 12V untill I get to around 45 MPH then it drops to basically nothing this tells me that the computer is calling for the OD solenoid. If I then hit the OD off button it pops right back up to 12V. seams to me like the computer is just fine.

I am broke so I just can't start throwing money at this thing, In my mind there are only 2 things it could be the solenoid is dirty/screwed up and not actuating, or it is actuating and there is a fluid problem somewhere, but that doesn't explain why it did grab OD that one time.

any thoughts? other ideas? please help I have a pretty long trip planned and am leaving on thursday and driving at 55MPH gets pretty old fast.

Just a note the tranny shifts through the rest of the gears just like any other 47rh (which isn't saying much) and the temps are in line with what they should be.

I almost forgot the most important part of this how do you test the resistance of the solenoids. I believe they are suppose to be about 30 ohms. I have worked through a lot of electrical problems in the past but for some reason I can't get a reading on these. so in real plain english terms I check from the solenoid wires to what, ground or 12V? key on? truck running? driving down the road?

thanks!!!!!
