Okay, so the tranny in my 95 12V 4x4 is slipping and needing a rebuild, I scored a 95 2wd tranny for super cheap. How hard is it to change the good 2wd to work in my 4wd. I am assuming take off the tailshaft and swap output shafts. Is there any special tools I'm going to need. Thanks.

 

not for just the rear section. if your gonna go through the whole trans you will need some unless you have a press....

 

If you're wanting to take the new trans and use it, just unbolt the tail housing and swap them over. If you wanted to get into the swapping of tailshafts, there's one nasty spring in there, that will require a shop press to release.

 

That's what I was hoping for, I am going to build the one that I'm taking out so I just need to get the new one in cause I can't afford the downtime right now. Thanks.
