having trouble getting truck into 4wd low goes int o 4wd hi just fine feel like im gonna rip the shifter out trying to get it into 4low dont know if i needto be in gear out of gear park orwhat some trucksare wierd this is my first diesel dont wanna tear it up

 

i put it into netural wait a few seconds then quickly shift into low range, if you pause on the N on the 4wd handle it will grind like crazy. if that doesnt work. shut the truck off, shift into low, then restart.
