3000k Spring?

I have a 97 auto that i just got with only 56K on it. Its stock atm though I'm doing a BHAF this weekend snd exhaust, kdp, gauges soon. I'm wondering a stock 47re fairs with the aformention mods an a 3k spring and 10 or 11 plate? I know itll have to be rebuild at some point but I'd like to put that as far out as possible. I eventually want to put in 50 -75 hp ddp injectors and a turbo but that wouldn tbe till after the tranny job.

Stock tranny isn't bad if you're not racing it with those mods. The shift kit or upgraded vb is a must imo.

with a decent tuned setup with the mentioned mods you can slip a single disc converter pretty well. i did a #6 plate alone and it would roast the stock tranny setup because of the single disc and stock vb pressure. an upgraded vb will help but i would go with a tripple disc while youre tearin everything else apart.

A #6 adds quite more power than the #10. A triple disc would be nice but if you're on a budget, definitely do the VB first. You can probably do the install yourself too.

Cool. I plan on a fully built tranny down the road w billet input and upgraded clutchs and internals. Of the vbs what opinions do yall have as to wos best. BD, Trans go, etc. One upside I have is If I'm not comfortable with any trnny stuff my cousin has owned a respected tranny shop for 20+ years

Well there you go. A shift kit is cheaper but a pre-built is easier. HTS, Goerend, DTT are all good. You'll want to get a couple more parts too, like band strut, accumulator piston, etc. I did the Transgo shift kit, to me that's the best because it cost me $40 for the kit + a new separator plate ($35) and I can adjust it myself. Reason I say two is because I took it apart again. You'll probably have to tweak with it to get it adjusted to your driving style.

You should do the shift kit with those mods if you can it should help. I did them with no trany mods, and it would slip if i towed or got on it hard. If you drive nice most of the time you will be fine, and you will love the power improvement. Also great find on the low milage 97.
