2x4
I don't!
I love the fact that there is SO much less to maintain. No, it's not as tall as my old 98 4x4, but it's still as tall or taller than most stock japanese trucks, maybe even the 1/2 ton Fords and Chevys.
I repacked my wheel bearings, and the total cost was a few cents for some grease. The wheel hubs on a 4x4 are $$$.. Oh, and my new trans? Cheaper to buy and have installed..
4x2s have their benefits.

I dumped the clutch once on the 01 I had at about 2500. It bucked and hopped but it did take off real fast. Don't think I'll do that again with a manual. With the auto it's great you're not killin the hides on the back. I did one at about 20 lbs. boost it launches great. I would like to find a twd with an auto to drive back and forth to work. They ride alot better and have to weight alot less. Does anyone have a emty wt. on a twd cummins with an auto.
