2nd gen with low oil pressure!

2nd gen with low oil pressure!

96 gen 2 . when its cold its almost 40psi ,and 25psi driving,at idel it 's low, the oil light comes on i changed sending unit,and oil pres. regulater. it had this problem before, and they rolled bearing in it worked for 80,000 know the problems back! could the bearings be out again!

by the way i bought it with this problem cheap!!!!

next question is will a 91 (gen 1) cummins work by changing the pump, injecters, front cover,and powersterring over cause i can buy it for 750.00 complete 119,000 miles with a warrenty! will their be any power loss from one to the other? after swapping parts!

I believe that the block and head are the same so if you change the timing case/pump and everything you should have the same amount of power. the only thing is the bowl shape on the pistons may be a little different but probably not going to make a noticible difference if they are.

ok thanks, i was told that i should change the camshaft as well cause the 96 is better than the 91 ?
