Is the rear dana 80 axle on a duelly dimensionally different then what is found on a 2500. I found a dana 80 axle from a 3500 that has Limited slip. I have an open axle and would like to swap axles if it is possible.

 

I believe that 3500 are narrow, not sure though

 

3500 is a wider axle, its a true D80. The ones in the 2500's are a D70/D80 hybrid, D80 housing, D70 spindles and hubs. They will interchange, but your rear track width will be wider.
