A friend of mine has a 2000 DRW that has a rough idle, and pressure building in the fuel tank. He checked the codes and got p0216, and p0236. We think the codes are for injection pump timing failure, and map sensor too high too long. We are not sure if this is right. We got the numbers from a book. If this is correct what do we need to do to fix the problem? Thanks

 

The book we got the code definitions out of said it was still okay to drive.

 

Check the injectors. Could be losing cylinder compression into the fuel system due to a poor seal on the copper washers.
