2-3 shift...

i have a transgo shift kit and a goerend triple disc converter, and billet apply lever/ band strut.

my issue is at wot the it is only in 2nd gear for maybe 2 seconds before it shifts to 3rd gear.

goes up through 1st gear fine then shifts to 2nd gear then almost immediately to 3rd gear.

i dont believe its slipping because i can go wot and manually shift it up through and its fine and i've never had any slip.

what is causing this?

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and mine does it, too.
I use the shift selector to hold it in 2nd when towing/hauling.
One of these days I'm going to try reprogramming the PCM at the dealer.

Not a specific flash, but I need to raise my OD shift point. I'm thinking it may help.
Charge varies by shop. usually ½ hour minimum

If you phone and talk to Dave at Goerands he will say that is the way these trans shift. He redid my trans in my 96 and said it will shift fast from 2-3rd, he suggests to manully put it into 2nd when hauling heavy and shift it to Drive when at the rpm you like it to shift. If you just leave it in Drive, it will shift to soon and all you are doing is lugging the motor in Drive till it gets to 1900 or so, and by letting it shift to soon your EGTS will go thru the roof,, I know that from all my hauling i do.

My DTT does the same thing I just havent gotten around to fixing it. I had my PCM flashed at the dealer and it didn't fix it. I have a pressure spike which causes it. Try calling Bill at DTT he might be able to help.
