I installed a switch to control lock up on the TC and now the torque converter will only lock up with the switch now. I thought I would have lock normal with the switch off and could use the switch as need in 1 and 2nd gear and third and od would lock normal.. What did I do wrong on this ???

Did you interrupt any circuitry? If I recall correctly, you should be tapping off the grounding line with a switch (and jumping out a relay) and not interrupting the circuit with a switch. In other words, instead of the PCM closing a relay AND grounding a solenoid, you keep the relay closed with a jumper and ground the lock-up solenoid with a switch, just tapped off the grounding wire (B11 or something on PCM harness). When normal the PCM does both I think...

 

There is no relay to mess with on a '95.
It sounds like you cut the blk/org wire.
You are supposed to tee into it without cutting.

 

We just soldered on a wire to a switch and lost all lock with out using the switch. beats me as to what is up ???

 

the orange and black wire doesnt get cut you have to just splice in to it so when u flip the switch the wire is grounded and when the switch is off the computer can ground it
