12v wont start

A friend of mine has a 96 5 speed, bone stock. He has had it parked for 3 weeks and went to start it and no go. I went over and looked at it and cant figure it out. It will fire on a whiff of either but wont run. I changed the fuel filter and no go. Cracked the injector lines at the injector and no fuel at all. Then i pulled a few of the lines at the pump and cranked it and no fuel at all is coming out of the pump. Where do we begin to look? Thanks for all the help.

prime the lift pump, you might have an air leak letting the fuel go back to the tank

First thing first, did you make sure the solenoid is pulling the fuel lever up?

Wire it in the up position and see if she gets fuel.

Look in Infidels picture gallery of you can't find the lift solenoid. Basically it is mounted with a bracket at the back of the pump, towards the drivers side. It is just an electrical solenoid that pulls up the fuel lever, and should still have part or all of a rubber boot over the rod. Reach down to the bottom of the rod and push upwards, many times they either get grit in the solenoid body or the rod end gets rusty and wont pull in on occasion.

Anyway, pull up on it and see if it starts normally. If it does, look to Foster truck for a new rubber boot kit and take the solenoid off and clean and replace the boot, far cheaper than replacing the solenoid.

If it pulls up normally by hand but not electrically, then you have some troubleshooting to do, you can manually wire the lever up to run to get the truck home.
